yeah funny that, its run flawlessly for 2 seasons at MMP and now that its getting lent on via the magic yellow bottle, starts finding the weak links. Trans was only ever built like the rest of the car, a hotrod to start with, with maybe a run down the strip occassionaly, and ends up as a racecar with the ocassional run down the shops trans was good for what it was, even coped with the transbrake and 5000rpm convertor fine, but yeah thats what happened to 2nd gear, as you said, weak link on a turbo 350. its getting fixed by someone that knows, and beefed so it doesnt happen again. having the convertor split to, seen its out, just to see if alls well in there, maintenance or whatever. then hope my parcles arrive from USA in time for next meet, otherwise I wont have a new fuel system etc etc.

Is there any body out there?
there hasn't been any action on this web site for a while
is there nothing to moan about or has every one burnt them selves out and gone to ground for the winter?
no thoughts on the last meeting?
no thoughts on what you, the racers and spectators, want for next year.
just cos you all are out there and dont see what happens in the meeting rooms of the committee dosn't mean you cant put your 10 cents worth in. It may be sh1t but it may also be relivant and we will listen to anything.. and that dosen't mean we will laugh behind closed doors either.
The thoughts of you folks out there are important and we do take it in and if we can impliment it we will.
I'm looking at putting together a bracket of front engine dragsters for next season. Not cos i'm on the committee or anything.... but because if we can get at least 10 cars in a group and can organise our selves then we can race other cars of the same type/ style and it looks good for the crowd as well as giving us a shot at each other instead of coming up against all commers cos there are not enough in the class. Our club(FEDNZ) will put up our own spot prizes and co-ordernate with the committee to fit in with the programme....
come on you all out there.... .. post something so Avgas can moan at something... he's dozed off to sleep from bordom....

Since you asked the last meeting was great, not too hot, car went well, and most importantly had shyte loads of runs, more than Avgas anyway !! Season overall was enjoyable, you guys do a great job. One thing I thought could be improved on, and God forbid look at something the dorklanders do, is better use of the staging lanes for quicker turn around. I know they have 6 of them, but each class is assigned its own lane, after racing you go straight there and park up for the next round, it seems to move things along fairly well... Not that I`m complaining mind, at least MMP runs a losers return bracket when they are able, I`ve spent a lot of time there !! Anyway well done, looking forward to next season. Any truth in the rumour re the land next to the airport Cheers Mike

Hi all, Alistair here from Petrolhead and Rodder mags. I've been following the various forums, including the pc import one, thought it was about time I jumped on board when I read avgas' recent post that mentioned local V8 magazine content. I've got a'36 sedan with a 302W and five-speed manual, a '65 Dodge Polara wagon on Astro Supremes, and have been doing PH since '98. We lease a V8 Falcon, my business partner Shirley has a 61 Buick Invicta convertible with a 410 Nailhead, our designer Kimmbo has two Pontiacs and the admin lady, Sara, has just imported a Caddy from the 'States. Yep, all V8s, we love it. ;D

Hi All Well I have been reading your forum and thought I should join so I can have a say aswell. Well it has come to my attention that avgas is talking about a his car but is it really a car?? plastic,no roof, ford body, chev engine. If it aint steel it aint real. ;D I have also often refered to it as a spa pool on wheels, does that make you feel any better anyway Mike and MMP as always Thanks very much for your efforts last year and the ones beofre that, without you guys we wouldnt have anything. yeah this forum seems to die over the winter months. improvements and ideas, who knows, but maybe like theyre going to do at LID have pre entry, that way you can plan the meeting better, already have the fields and whos racing who in the 1st rounds sorted before we even get there. Maybe you could then run the briefing at 9am and get racing underway at 09.30 instead of the often 11am, and say lead out with division that are tech'd and that still leaves you some staff to scrutineer the street and WOF cars that are turning up, all pre enetred of course. that way we arent waiting for scrutineering to be over before practice starts, just an idea, thats all. and that way if you got under way earlier, it would leave abit of breathing space for oil downs or whatever, or even move on late saturday into eliminations, On sunday who cares if the meeting finsihed a couple of hours earlier, that way some of us wouldn;t be in such a ruch to pack up and get home, and would stick around and help pull the place to bits again. And JBI, those 2 cars you mentioned a month or so ago in this post, garys falcon and my bucket, got abit more press with features in NZV8 magazine to. not badly written articles if I do say so myself ;D anyway looking forward to this season, just waiting to put car together again now that Ive sold 3/4's of my motors internals might have to race my mini chopper in DYO bike instead.

Sorry,, no mini choppers in the pits except those used by track officials and the like. New rules in the new rule book. Safety in the pits... too many kids on power bikes having near misses with pedestrians. Across the board..all tracks...rule book. some other new changes also... needs to be read carefully. not just your class regs ... general regs and safety....

Hi Bazza Have a look here - www.mastertonmotorplex.co.nz/raceclasses.htmYou should fit in to Super Street; Staggered start using self-nominated handicap (DYO), .400 Full Tree. 11.00 seconds or slower. Eligible Classes: S/ST Depending on the meeting there may be more import classes, usually determined by competitor numbers. Someone else may correct me on this.... See you at the track (hopefully)!

boy it's quiet in here.. My name is Kim and I own a 1992 commodore which I race at MMP as often as they have events, I'm from Wainuiomata where there are plenty of petrolheard.. I often check in on the site and have been a member for a little while but not posted.. looking forwards to finding out when the 2010/2011 events are being run cos I'm hanging for some seat time, especially with all the crap going on that kinda says there will be no dates at MMP this year..
