Whilst we are all introducing ourselves I might as well. My name's Tracey and I'm from Masterton. I am the Secretary of Masterton Motorplex so if you need to know anything I'm the sucker to ask!! I have raced for 3 seasons now, first 2 in a jappa and then converted to a V8 last season. I have a XU1 Torana with a 350 chev in it.

Agh, small world, I think. That friend didnt used to race it himself occasionally in DYO street at Masterton say 2 years ago, then from memory last time I saw him in the pits, last year he was working, had a broken arm, ring any bells. or I could be just making an arse outta myself. First name of Steve, and hes local bacon

Okay, intro time. I'm Matty, 31, from Wellington, senior analyst programmer for a Big Horrible Bank, wife on the way, kids hopefully not on the way yet. I drive possibly the slowest VTEC Civic in the lower North Island, and I challenge other import drivers to lose to me. Please. I also lack any racing talent whatsoever. Go me. I'm also a big V8 fan, having grown up around Falcons and Toranas, but it just happens I started racing in the Civic and having spent a bit on it I guess I'll carry on with it. Never fear though, we'll be upgrading our other car to a V8 fairly soon.

Greetings all, Trace here - (aka JetGirl), I'm from Auckland, relocating to New Plymouth in a coupla weeks. My partner races the plain crazy roadster in the competition division.... I've worked at Champion for about the last 20 years (since I was 8) with my Dad (Plank) who has been starting at Champion and the now defunct Thunderpark Dragway for the last 25 years. Basically my passion is drag racing - doesn't matter where it is, if there is an event, we'll try our hardest to be there......

Welcome all!!!
Sorry to get a bit off topic here, but just have to ask....
Trace - if you know details could you please let us know just exactly the reason for Thunderpark closing down?? We've heard a few rumours, but nothing official. It's just it came up on another forum, and a few of us had different stories.
PM if need be.
Thanks in advance ;D
